Digital Designer - Web & Marketing (Maternity Cover)

Marketing
Hybrid (in/near Sofia)
At Telerik Academy, we’re looking for a Digital Designer - Web & Marketing to improve how people experience our website and learning portal across desktop and mobile. You’ll design new pages and rethink existing journeys on a large, content-rich platform, making information easier to find, options easier to understand, and next steps clearer for both individual learners and business clients.

As part of the marketing team, you’ll also create visual assets for campaigns and content across social media, email, paid channels, presentations, PDFs, and other digital formats. You’ll use AI to support the creative process, speed up routine work, and improve design workflows - thoughtfully and with sound judgement.

Working with marketing, product, and development colleagues, you’ll bring consistency and strong visual thinking to every touchpoint: from responsive web experiences to campaign creatives.

What you will be doing:

  • Design new website pages and improve existing ones, balancing user needs, business goals, content priorities, and technical constraints.
  • Map and simplify user journeys, from discovery and program comparison to enquiry, application, and enrolment, across desktop and mobile.
  • Design mobile experiences deliberately rather than treating them as scaled-down desktop pages, accounting for navigation, content hierarchy, readability, interaction, and conversion.
  • Rethink complex, content-heavy website experiences so they are easier to navigate, scan, and act on across devices.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product colleagues to translate audience insight, campaign goals, and content requirements into effective digital experiences.
  • Work closely with developers throughout implementation, providing clear specifications, reviewing builds, and helping ensure high-quality responsive execution.
  • Create visual assets for marketing campaigns across social media, email, paid channels, landing pages, and other digital touchpoints.
  • Adapt creative across channels, formats, and dimensions while maintaining visual quality and brand consistency.
  • Refine web experiences and campaign creative based on feedback, user behavior, and performance insights.

How this role can contribute to your development:

  • Take meaningful ownership of a high-traffic website and help shape its evolution across desktop and mobile.
  • Deepen your UX/UI design expertise through hands-on web and digital product work.
  • Strengthen your ability to solve complex user-journey, content, and conversion challenges in a real learning environment.
  • Work closely with experienced marketing, product, and development professionals and broaden your strategic, technical, and collaborative skills.
  • Receive structured onboarding, ongoing feedback, and opportunities to grow in your role.
  • Enjoy a thoughtful benefits program that include:
    • Up to 30 days of paid annual leave, plus regular half-days off for the whole team.
    • Flexible working hours and a flexible work format.
    • Premium health insurance with dental coverage, a comprehensive annual medical check-up, and situational healthcare leave.
    • Ongoing investment in your development through a personal training budget and access to training, books, learning materials, and platforms such as Pluralsight and Udemy.
    • A mental health program with confidential access to therapists, practical seminars, and more.
    • Office perks at Campus X, including access to the rooftop, Fun Zone, gym corner, and showers.
    • Supported paternity and student leave, family care days, and events for parents and children.
    • The option to add a Multisport card
    • …and more to discover.

What will make you successful in this role:

Web and mobile design experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in web, digital product, UX/UI, visual, or a related design role, with substantial hands-on web design work.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates responsive websites, landing pages, mobile experiences, and end-to-end user flows.
  • Solid understanding of UX/UI principles, information architecture, responsive behavior, and mobile-first design.
  • Confidence moving from early wireframes to polished UI, prototypes, developer handoff, and implementation review.

Visual design foundation

  • A previous background in graphic or visual design, with strong command of typography, colour, composition, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience applying brand guidelines across digital experiences and supporting campaign or marketing asset creation when needed.
  • A degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Art, or a related field.

Tools and execution

  • Proficiency in Figma for user flows, wireframing, responsive interface design, prototyping, components, and developer handoff.
  • Experience working with design systems and reusable, component-based patterns.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; InDesign experience is useful for occasional print work.
  • Practical understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive front-end behaviour, and the possibilities and limitations of web implementation.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to explore ideas, speed up routine work, improve workflows, or support design decisions, with sound judgement about when and how to use them.
  • Experience collaborating with developers and preparing clear, implementation-ready specifications.

How you work

  • You are adaptable and comfortable navigating evolving priorities, incomplete information, and the realities of improving a large existing website.
  • You are motivated to take ownership, solve problems proactively, and see designs through to implementation.
  • You are curious and AI-minded: open to testing new tools and methods while maintaining a high bar for quality and relevance.
  • You communicate your thinking clearly, welcome feedback, and iterate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • You have excellent written and spoken Bulgarian and English.

Nice to have

  • Basic motion or video design skills.
  • Hands-on front-end skills.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing concepts, channels, and terminology.

How to apply

Please, send us:

  • Your CV.
  • A portfolio that shows relevant web and mobile design work, including responsive pages, user journeys, landing pages, website redesigns, or comparable digital projects.
